Customers rave about the excellent selection of cakes, with the gingerbread layer cake often singled out for praise. It’s a must-try for any dessert lover! Breakfast options are also a highlight, especially the Village Breakfast, which garners attention for its generous portions and quality ingredients.

The friendly staff enhances the experience—they not only serve with a smile but actively engage with guests, making each person feel valued. The cozy, clean atmosphere invites guests to linger longer, a perfect spot for remote work or casual meet-ups. The pet-friendly environment is another major plus, allowing patrons to enjoy their meal with their four-legged companions.

Most Disliked

While The Chocolate Strawberry Cafe has much to love, some visitors note limited menu options, especially for those looking for extensive variety in main dishes. Diners mention wishing for more diverse offerings during lunch hours, particularly on weekends when the cafe is bustling.

Occasionally, capacity limitations during peak hours—like Saturdays around 1 PM—can lead to a wait for seating, which some find inconvenient. A few customers have also pointed out that while the desserts are delightful, not every dish may cater to individual tastes. However, these critiques tend to be minor in the face of the overwhelmingly positive experience the cafe offers.

Called in today with our daughter as she wanted to go for her birthday as we didn't go on our usual Sunday visit and they were brilliant, as usual, but really made her day by popping a candle on her cake and singing happy birthday for her. She was absolutely delighted , many thanks for the wonderful surprise to Sue and all the hard working fabulous staff . The gingerbread layer cake was amazing

Recommended by a friend, so went on a mission through rising rivers and flooded roads. An old mill re vamped into a cafe and shopping experience. The cafe is well run, wheelchair accessible, lovely toilets and a really nice menu. We went Sunday 10am, it soon filled up with regulars, Their food is fresh and really nice, the cakes are not my thing but the unicorn cake was well received by my wife. Staff were accommodating thinking I was taking pics for my wife, but it was for this review! The staff really made the place, thank you.

Worth visiting Pendle Village if only to experience The Chocolate Strawberry cafe. A great cafe serving excellent reasonably priced food by the most pleasant attentive staff. We are lucky enough to live close by and we frequently visit. It speaks volumes that a large percentage of the older generation eat there, they are no fools! Not an extensive menu, but what they do, they do well. Take a look at the burger that I had during this visit. A visit to the loo is also pleasing as there has been no expense spared in the sanitary ware either. All in all well done.

Ordered traditional minced beef and onion pie with veg and potatos, I asked for chips and mushy peas and they were very obliging. Good strong cuppa too. Highly recommend if your looking for good quality home cooked food.
